Player Information:

John Parris is a football player from the island nation of Barbados.  At the age of 34, he is nearing the end of a distinguished career as a midfielder for one team, the Notre Dame Bayville squad.  His athleticism is attested to by the fact that from his first year as a Barbados Football Association professional, he was invited on to the Barbados National Football Team, the Bajan Pride.  In fact, even before joining the Bayville squad, he was sought out in amateur leagues for one year of participation on the Pride team.  In international play, Parris has earned 101 caps, making him one of the top three national leaders in the category.  He has taken only two yellow cards during his international career, and has no goals.

Though statistics on Barbados football are scarce, Parris was definitely active in league play during his youth, and it was only in the year 2000 that his name occurs in the published National Team records.  Since that was in the year when he reached the age of 25, at most, Parris was certainly one of the stars of the semi-professional and amateur teams around the island nation.  In 2001, he joined the Notre Dame Bayville, representing a suburb south of downtown Bridgetown, the capital city of Barbados.

Player Information:

Brian Neblett is a professional footballer in the country of Barbados, where the number one sport is cricket.  Let it never be said that Neblett has allowed the low profile of his sport stunt his enthusiasm, however!  At the age of 30, Neblett has become a veteran of three years of professional play as a defender.  His first year of recorded appearances is 2006, with the Notre Dame Bayville Football Club, where he has remained his entire career.  This means that Neblett was working out with clubs and auditioning for teams for over six years before he was finally signed on to a paying contract!  This is amateur dedication at its finest!  After playing with many youth clubs, Neblett spent the years 1998 through 2006 raising his game to higher and higher levels, until his commitment finally earned him his reward.  His story of late success does not end there, however.  In his first year of play for the Notre Dame Bayville Squad, Neblett’s defensive prowess was strong enough to earn a call up to the Barbados national Team, the Bajan Pride.  He accepted quickly.  He missed an invitation the next year, but has returned in 2008 and 2009.
